The Alabama Crimson Tide are coming off a brutal 26-10 Week 7 road loss to the Tennessee Volunteers, a game in which the Tide were absolutely dominated in the trenches by their hated rivals.
Alabama’s offensive line, in particular, had a rough day against a stout Volunteers pass rush, allowing quarterback Keelon Russell to be sacked 5 times, a season high.
Sophomore offensive guard Michael Carroll was asked about offensive line coach Adrian Klemmโs reaction to the unitโs poor showing against the Vols, and Carroll summed up Klemmโs message in one sentence.
“The message was that it was an embarrassing performance, and we need to come together as a group and never let that happen again,” Carroll said.
After giving up as many sacks as Alabama did this past Saturday, there really isn’t too much more that can be said other than what Klemm told his guys. Sometimes teams just get walloped, and there isn’t much they can do besides learn from it and move on to the next matchup.
Carroll and the rest of the Crimson Tide still have everything out in front of them, but they will have to find a way to work out some of the issues that have been plaguing them over the past couple of weeks if they want to accomplish what they set out to do at the beginning of the campaign.
