One of the premier venues in all of college football is in Bryant-Denny Stadium, home of the Alabama Crimson Tide. The legendary stadium could soon undergo renovations to “premium” areas of the venue, per a report.
According to AL.com’s Nick Kelly, members of the UA system board of trustees green-lit the planning stages for the development of multiple new luxury suites around Bryant-Denny on Friday. The full board is expected to hold another vote Friday to finalize that decision.
The meeting was to approve the initial planning of the new luxury additions, which will reportedly include 4 new suites in each corner of the lower bowl, and 3 new suites in the press box.
This will be the first time in 5 years that the Tide have upgraded their home stadium, with the last round of renovations coming back in 2020. This last round of renovations was a bit more expensive and included the replacement of all 4 corner video boards, a student plaza with upgraded amenities, and a massive renovation to the home locker room.
The new upgrades would require a 1,200-square foot reduction for the press box, per Kelly’s report.
Alabama is set to host Wisconsin on Saturday in Week 3.
