Alabama releases depth chart ahead of Week 1 matchup vs. East Carolina

The Alabama Crimson Tide already named Keelon Russell their starting quarterback for the 2026 season. Additionally, fans already knew that Ryan Coleman-Williams, and others, would be starters. Now, they have most of the picture.
On Friday morning, Yea Alabama! released head coach Kalen DeBoer‘s depth chart. With transfer Noah Rogers still on the mend, Rico Scott joins Coleman-Williams and Lotzeir Brooks as Alabama’s starting wideouts.
Junior running back Daniel Hill — the Tide’s leading returning rusher — will presumably get the starting nod in the backfield. However, despite being the first name listed, there’s no guarantee that will be the case. Hill, Trae’Shawn Brown, Kevin Riley and EJ Crowell could all be the starter, based on this chart. Brown, a 3-star freshman from Huntsville, TX, seems to have fan support for the role.
Sophomore rusher AK Dear may take the job when healthy, but all four active ‘backs have an opportunity to seize control of touches. Defensively, the front seven is littered with upper classmen. This experience will hopefully allow the Crimson Tide to dominate the trenches.
Alabama follows up its season opener versus East Carolina with a trip to Kentucky. The Crimson Tide and Pirates kick off on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. E.T. (ABC).
