Alabama reportedly loses first signee from December class as 4-star CB is on the move

Alabama has taken hits to its current roster, and now the Crimson Tide have seen a signee to make a move away from Tuscaloosa.
Jameer Grimsley, a 4-star cornerback also listed as an athlete on his Alabama bio, is from Tampa, Florida. He chose Alabama over Florida State, Michigan and Penn State. However, several reports suggested Florida made a strong push down the stretch of his recruitment.
Grimsley committed to Alabama on July 1 after he was ranked the No. 19 corner in the class and the No. 34 prospect from the state of Florida. Overall, he’s the No. 215 prospect in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He was the 10th known commit to join the Tide’s 2024 class.
Part of his 247Sports scouting report suggested that Grimsley is “a gangly defensive back prospect with two-way production and verified foot speed. … In-person evaluations suggest that he’s well north of 6-foot and equipped with long limbs. Quick-twitched athlete with sudden movement patterns that can chew up grass.”
