This spring, Alabama redshirt sophomore WR Tyrell Shavers has been doing some work with the Crimson Tide baseball team.

However, as the football squad’s spring practices have kicked off, the talented two-sport athlete will apparently focus only on one sport.

Per a report from 247Sports, Shavers will spend all his time with the football team ahead of the spring game on April 13:

“Tyrell, we worked for a month or so, and with the Fourth Quarter Program and spring football coming up in the short time, he’s just really going to attack that,” Alabama baseball coach Brad Bohannon said Monday. “We’ll kind of get through spring football and regroup. But right now, he’s full-time football.”

Shavers redshirted in 2017 and appeared in all 15 games in 2018, but has yet to record his first catch for the Crimson Tide.

With a deep receiving corps returning, we’ll see what role Shavers is able to carve out for himself in 2019.
