According to NFL.com, University of Alabama junior defensive lineman Jarran Reed and linebacker Reggie Ragland have asked to be evaluated by the NFL Draft Advisory Board about when they could expect to be selected should they declare themselves eligible this year.
“I know I’m going to make the right decision for me, but right now I’m focused on this game,” Reed said at the Sugar Bowl media day on Tuesday. “It’s crazy to even think about it, where I came from out of junior college where everybody is chasing that dream. I still don’t even really know how I’ve gotten to this point.”
Wide receiver Amari Cooper and safety Landon Collins have declined to comment on if they might be playing their final games for the Crimson Tide, as both would have a chance to be first-round selections. However, offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin made a comment earlier this week about trying to replace the program’s all-time leading receiving, and potentially the all-time leading rusher.
Running back T.J. Yeldon is a junior as well, but so far is being projected as a likely second-reound selection.
The deadline for underclassmen to decide is Jan. 15. Alabama plays Ohio State in the national playoff semifinal on Thursday (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN), with the winner advancing to the national championship on Jan. 12.
