Auburn coach Alex Golesh is excited about the prospect of Bryum Brown proving people wrong in 2026.

Both Golesh and Brown are making the jump from South Florida and the AAC this year. Auburn fans and administrators have high hopes for that duo ahead of the 2026 season.

However, some have cast doubt onto Brown, who will be playing an SEC schedule for the first time this fall. In more recent days, a rough performance in Auburn’s spring game has contributed to the criticism that Brown is facing this offseason.

During an interview with Next Round Live on Wednesday at the Regions Tradition Pro Am, Golesh spoke about why he’s not concerned for Brown as he makes the leap to the SEC.

“That dude has been at Bryant-Denny, he’s been in The Swamp, he’s been at Miami,” Golesh said of his starting quarterback. “That’s part of having a guy that’s a fifth-year guy. The mental side and the environment is not going to get him. It’s gonna have to be somebody on the other side of the ball that’s going to get him.”

Brown is coming off of a season where he threw for 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns while also hitting career-highs in passer efficiency rating and yards per attempt. Brown also rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his collegiate career last season as well.

As Golesh alluded to, his season also included a road win over Florida last September where he threw for 263 yards and 1 touchdown.

Golesh and the Tigers will hope that athleticism translates to a postseason appearance for Auburn in 2026.
