Amidst the frenzy surrounding Penn State’s firing of head coach James Franklin, the AP Poll’s latest rankings were revealed Sunday.
Indiana steals the headlines by coming in at third, the highest-ever ranking in the program’s history.
Ohio State and Miami remained static at No. 1 and No. 2, but the rest of the top 10 received ample shakeup. Texas A&M leaped Ole Miss to take the 4th spot, while Alabama rose to No. 6.
Elsewhere, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee each slid up a spot thanks to Oklahoma plummeting from No. 6 to No. 14. Missouri only went down two spots following its loss to the Crimson Tide, while Vanderbilt rose up three while on a bye week.
Preseason No. 1 Texas also jumped back into the rankings following its statement win over the Sooners, as the Longhorns slid in at No. 21 as one of 5 new entrants.
