Arch Manning, Cam Coleman connect for first Texas TD of 2026 season

Arch Manning and Cam Coleman are viewed as one of the best quarterback/wide receiver duos in college football, despite not having played together prior to this season.
During the Texas opener against Texas State on Saturday, they showcased that potential as Manning hit Coleman on a 6-yard pass for the Longhorns’ first points of the 2026 season.

Manning entered last season with a ton of hype, but like many young quarterbacks, he struggled at times. However, he started to play much better at the end of 2025, and is a big reason whythe Longhorns are looked at as a contender in the SEC, as well as the College Football Playoff.
Coleman started his career at Auburn, where he put up 93 catches, 1,356 yards, and 13 touchdowns in his first two seasons. The Tigers struggled a lot on offense during the last two seasons, but he was one of the few bright spots. Now, that he is playing for an offensive coach like Steve Sarkisian, the expectation is that he will put up numbers that will rival any other receiver in the country.
The Week 1 game is a good tune-up for the Longhorns, who will welcome in No. 1 Ohio State next weekend.
