Archie Manning narrates intense Ole Miss hype video for Sugar Bowl showdown with Georgia
Ole Miss is gearing up for perhaps the biggest game in its program’s history when it battles Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday night, and the Rebels’ Athletic Department released an official trailer in advance of the matchup.
And donating his voice to the video was none other than former Ole Miss great Archie Manning, as the Rebels’ past quarterback narrated a passion-filled creation for fans to enjoy.
The 2-minute clip began by showing college highlights of Manning himself before he launched into his script.
“They say history doesn’t repeat itself…But it often rhymes,” Manning said. “All the greatest Ole Miss teams have played in the Sugar Bowl, seasons as unpredictable as the city itself.”
Past moments from the Rebels’ escapades in the Sugar Bowl–such as their 48-20 win over Oklahoma State in the 2016 edition–rolled on while Manning continued. He then compared the traits of Ole Miss’ past squads to New Orleans itself before shifting gears.
“But this is your story. You control your destiny. You know the opponent,” Manning said. “Can you overcome? Every step you take is one step closer to becoming legends.”
Intense music played in the background of the team’s 2025 highlights before a simple message of ‘Beat Georgia’ appeared on the screen to wrap things up.
