Archie Manning praises Kamario Taylor’s ‘impressive’ outing at Manning Passing Academy

Kamario Taylor is gearing up for a breakout year at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs’ starting quarterback is an athletic marvel, which is part of the reason why he was one of several talented college quarterbacks invited to attend the Manning Passing Academy at Nicholls State. Taylor was invited alongside Texas‘ Arch Manning, Ole Miss‘s Trinidad Chambliss, Ohio State’s Julian Sayin and Notre Dame’s CJ Carr, to name a few.
And according to the Passing Academy’s founder, Taylor was as impressive as any quarterback the Manning family saw in late June.
“He was as impressive as anybody we had this summer (at the Manning Passing Academy),” Archie Manning said, via Chris Low of On3 Sports. “He was just a flat-out, good-looking kid, built well, athletic as hell and could throw it all over the field. You don’t see many kids that big that can move the way he can and throw it the way he can.”
Indeed, there’s a lot to like about Taylor — especially from a physical standpoint.
The Macon, Mississippi native is listed at 6-foot-4 on the Bulldogs’ team site, and he’s grown considerably since arriving at Mississippi State. Taylor is set to enter his sophomore season at well over 230 pounds after arriving to Starkville under 200 pounds during the 2025 offseason. That bodes well for Taylor’s ability in the run game — he rushed for 458 yards and 8 touchdowns on limited appearances last season.
He’s got an arm, too. Taylor showed off in flashes last season, throwing for 629 yards and 5 touchdowns with 1 interception across 77 passing attempts.
Taylor is set to show the world what he can do on Saturday, Sept. 5 as the Bulldogs open their season against Louisiana Monroe.
