The Arkansas Razorbacks are reportedly closing in on a deal with Texas A&M DC John Chavis to become new coach Chad Morris’s defensive coordinator in Fayetteville next year.

However, as Texas A&M trails 38-28 at halftime of the Belk Bowl, Arkansas fans are understandably having second thoughts about Chavis.

Arkansas supporters flocked to Twitter as Chavis’s Texas A&M defense fell apart in the first half to wonder whether it was too late for the Hogs to reconsider hiring the longtime SEC defensive coordinator:

Again, nothing is official with Arkansas and John Chavis just yet, but Friday’s Belk Bowl isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for the longtime defensive coordinator.

It certainly isn’t a good look for Chavis, but it remains to be seen if that will sway Morris’s decision at all. Chavis has a solid track record, but he isn’t exactly inspiring hope in the Hogs’ fanbase on Friday in Charlotte.
