On Oct. 26, 2024, the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 58-25 in Starkville. Heading into Week 7, that triumph represented the Hogs’ last SEC victory. On Saturday, that finally changed.

KJ Jackson posted for 309 total yards, Arkansas’ running backs recorded 129 rushing yards and the Razorbacks’ defense snagged two interceptions to beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 31-21 on Saturday.

Defensive back Joker Johnson’s 25-yard pick-six put Arkansas on the board in the second quarter. Then, late in regulation, Miguel Mitchell’s diving interception set the stage for Max Gilbert’s 39-yard field goal that pushed the Razorbacks’ lead to double digits.

Arkansas (3-4, 1-3 SEC) ended a 14-game SEC losing streak with its win, which is the first conference victory of the Ryan Silverfield Era. Vanderbilt (3-4, 0-4 SEC) now resides in the SEC’s basement less than a year after a dream season.

Freshman quarterback Jared Curtis completed 61.3% of his passes (19/31) for 274 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Wide receiver Junior Sherrill led the Commodores with eight receptions, 99 yards and a touchdown.

The Razorbacks go on bye in Week 8 before battling the Missouri Tigers on Halloween. Vandy heads to Lexington for a matchup with Kentucky on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
