The Auburn Tigers‘ Week 1 performance versus the Baylor Bears wasn’t necessarily pretty. Baylor committed fewer penalties, had fewer turnovers and outgained Auburn in the contest. But in the end, the Tigers had more points. And that fact has helped head coach Alex Golesh maintain his school’s sell-out streak.
Tuesday morning, Auburn revealed that Saturday night’s game with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles has sold out.
The capacity crowd at Jordan-Hare Stadium will be the Tigers’ 23rd-straight full house.

Auburn managed to never trail Baylor in Week 1 despite its struggles. The Tigers took a 10-0 lead late in the second quarter on Jeremiah Cobb’s 15-yard scoring scamper. Then, late in the fourth quarter, they jumped in front 17-10 when Byrum Brown found paydirt from 11 yards out.
Bears quarterback DJ Lagway nearly pulled his squad to victory when he found Gavin Freeman for a touchdown with nine second left in regulation, but Auburn stopped Baylor’s two-point conversion to seal its win.
The game’s exciting conclusion was one of the most intense of Week 1. The Tigers hope their matchup with the Golden Eagles won’t contain as much drama.
Auburn and Southern Miss kick off at 7:45 p.m. E.T. on Saturday (SEC Network).
