Auburn has released a statement after a video surfaced that allegedly shows running back Jarquez Hunter involved in a sex act.

Multiple indefinite suspensions have been handed out.

โ€œWe are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously,โ€ the statement read. โ€œThe appropriate office are conducting a thorough review. Indefinite suspensions have been issued for violation of applicable Auburn Athletics department policy. No further comment will be provided at this time.โ€

Hunter is expected to be a key player for Auburn this season as he takes over a role from Tank Bigsby after Hunter rushed for 675 yards, and 7 touchdowns last season. As a freshman in 2021, he rushed for 593 yards and 3 touchdowns while averaging 6.7 yards per carry and less than 7 carries per game.

Hunter had a strong spring and coach Hugh Freeze even said he was “probably the best running back Iโ€™ve ever coached.”

Hunter has 1,269 career rushing yards, 10 career rush TD and ranks 41st among Auburn career rushers.
