3D printing is the way of the future, and the Auburn Tigers are getting ahead of the curve this season.
When the 2017 campaign kicks off, the Tigers will have a new helmet feature that will add to the sleek look of the blue and orange lids.
According to AuburnUniforms.com, the new Auburn helmets will feature a 3D nameplate on the front by the facemask:
“Auburn will be jumping on the 3D Bumpers train, and adding a foam, 3D-printed ‘TIGERS’ plate to the front rubber padding that connect the helmet shell to the facemask.”

The decal on the back of the helmets will remain stuck in 2D — at least for now.
