Former Alabama Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram has had an up-and-down career since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints, but he looked like he was putting it together through the first two games of the season. Ingram found the end zone against the Cleveland Browns, his league-leading third score of the young season, and ran for 83 yards on 11 carries. Unfortunately, it was announced Monday morning that he’ll miss a month with a broken hand.

Here are some other former Crimson Tide standouts who made an impact around the NFL on Sunday.

  • Marcell Dareus – The Buffalo Bills defensive tackle registered 2 solo tackles and knocked down a pass in a Bills win.
  • Dont’a Hightower – Hightower led the New England Patriots with 8 tackles and registered 2 sacks in their 30-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Julio Jones – After missing most of last season with an injury, Jones is back to his old form. The stud wide receiver had 7 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in a loss against Cincinnati.
  • Mark Barron – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety recorded 8 tackles and a pass defensed against the St. Louis Rams.
  • Notable starting OL – D.J. Fluker, San Diego Chargers; Chance Warmack, Tennessee Titans; Andre Smith, Cincinnati Bengals
  • Trent Richardson – Richardson gets his chance to shine in primetime when his Indianapolis Colts square off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
