The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide are preparing for a massive showdown in Tuscaloosa this weekend. The game, unsurprisingly, is attracting immense betting activity. But so far, that action has been fairly one-sided.
At numerous sportsbooks, Georgia opened as a 3-point favorite over Alabama. Lines changed quickly, however. Sunday on the Kalshi prediction market, Georgia was a 1.5-point favorite.
As of Monday afternoon, that line has moved nearly five points, with the Crimson Tide now a 1.5-point favorite. Other betting markets have experienced similar shifts.
Per Mike Rodak of Bama247, Alabama was a home underdog for just the second time in 19 seasons based on Vegas’ opening lines. The Crimson Tide were underdogs in each of the last six games they’ve faced the Bulldogs. They went 4-2 in those matchups, all of which occurred from 2021-2025.
- 2021 SEC Championship: Alabama – 41, Georgia – 24
- 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship: Georgia – 33, Alabama – 18
- 2023 Regular Season (Athens): Alabama – 27, Georgia – 24
- 2024 Regular Season (Tuscaloosa): Alabama – 41, Georgia – 34
- 2025 Regular Season (Athens): Alabama – 24, Georgia – 21
- 2025 SEC Championship: Georgia – 28, Alabama – 7
While Vegas believed Georgia should be the favorite for the game, fans clearly feel more confident in Alabama at home. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC) on Saturday night.
