Fans of the Birmingham Iron, a franchise in the Alliance of American Football, will recognize another face on the roster this spring.

The team announced it has signed OL Leon Brown formerly of Alabama, TE Wes Saxton of South Alabama, and former UAB OL Chris Schleuger. The Alliance of American Football is an eight-team football league scheduled to begin play in February.

Saxton and Schleuger are the first players signed from their schools by Birmingham.

The Iron has already signed WR Chris Black, LB Xzavier Dickson, OL Brandon Greene, OL Dominick Jackson, RB Trent Richardson, QB Blake Sims and DB Bradley Sylve of Alabama and DB Chris Davis, long snapper Ike Powell, S Robenson Therezie and DB Ryan White of Auburn.
