Injuries are an unfortunate part of football, but it’s especially difficult to see a player injured in a bowl game. In Monday’s Quick Lane Bowl, Bowling Green lost QB Matt McDonald after he took a hard, low shot out of bounds in the first half.
McDonald was out of bounds after picking up a first down when he took a shot to the lower body from New Mexico State safety Dylan Early.

New Mexico State leads 14-0 after the first 2 quarters of play. Off the bench, Orth is 6-of-10 for 63 yards. NMSU’s Diego Pavia threw for 2 touchdowns in the first half.
