Brian Kelly had a simple message at halftime in his interview with CBS Sports: “Buckle up.”

Both quarterbacks, LSU’s Jayden Daniels and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe put up big numbers in the 1st half, especially running the ball. Daniels had 165 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Milroe poured on 102 yards and 3 touchdowns. The game is 21-21 at halftime.

“Look, both quarterbacks are elusive,” Kelly said, “both teams can make plays. It’s about getting stops, really. We let the back out twice where they made big plays on our defense. But we come back offensively and make obviously a great individual play down at the end. This is the way it’s going to be for 4 quarters, so buckle up. We’ve got more work to do.”

LSU scored with 5 seconds left on a pass from Daniels to Kyren Lacy, and the Tigers will receive the ball to start the 2nd half.

To Kelly’s point, it’s been an offensive showcase, as LSU has rang up 323 yards, while Alabama has put up 290.
