LSU head coach Brian Kelly isn’t mincing words as the Tigers gear up for their SEC opener against Florida on Saturday.

Under the lights at Tiger Stadium, Kelly had a strong message for LSU fans who will be attending the 7:30 P.M. ET kickoff in Baton Rouge.

“We need to be Death Valley,” Kelly said Monday. “We need to live up to our resume as the most difficult place to play in the country. It’s SEC time. You had your warm-up tailgates… Now, let’s go get it.”

The Tigers (2-0) escaped Louisiana Tech 23-7 on Saturday, but Kelly was far from pleased with the performance. QB Garrett Nussmeier threw for 237 yards and a touchdown, while RB Caden Durham added a short rushing score that extended the lead to 17-0 in the third quarter.

Kelly called out execution issues across the board, insisting both players and coaches must perform better.

Meanwhile, Florida (1-1) comes off a stunning 18-16 home loss to South Florida in Week 2. Head coach Billy Napier took flak after the upset, with the team committing 11 penalties and giving up an 87-yard drive capped Nico Gramatica’s game-winning field goal.

Week 3’s matchup will be critical for both programs.
