Brock Purdy says he has ‘a lot of trust’ in former Ole Miss WR De’Zhaun Stribling

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy spoke highly of former Ole Miss wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling, who was selected by San Francisco in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
2022’s Mr. Irrelevant said Monday that Stribling has proven that he is a reliable target and that he personally has a lot of trust in him. Here’s Purdy’s full quote:
“He understands the route depth, the details, the alignments of our offense. All those things are tough for rookies. It’s not easy, it’s a whole other language. He’s done a good job of studying, being on top of it. Not even that, just catching the ball, finishing, this dude has proven to all of us that he’s reliable and we can trust him … I got a lot of trust in him right now.”

Stribling had an up and down college career before posting a strong final 2 seasons at Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. He started his career at Washington State, played 2 seasons in Pullman then transferred to Stillwater for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. For his final season of eligibility, Stribling posted 52 receptions and 811 receiving yards for the Rebels.
