Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown made a bit of history in the first half against Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon.

Brown completed 19-of-23 passes in the first half against the Rebels. According to Auburn, that’s the most first-half completions by a Tigers quarterback in an SEC game since Ben Leard had 20 way back in 1999.

Here are a few more specifics from Brown’s big first half:

Despite Brown’s accuracy, Auburn’s offense didn’t put up big yardage or point totals before the break. Brown threw for just 133 yards and Auburn trailed 14-9 at the break. Brown did throw a touchdown pass in the first half, giving the Tigers their first points of the game.

Brown’s accuracy has been an issue in recent weeks. He completed just 15 passes in each of his last 2 games. His completion percentage entering Saturday sat just above 64%, which is roughly in line with his career average at South Florida.

Auburn is looking to get back in the win column this week after a blowout loss in Week 8.
