CBS Sports college football analysts spoke loudly and proudly on Tuesday night, with each picking their top newcomers for the 2025 season.
One of those analysts is former Colorado, Washington and UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel, who knows a thing or 2 about college quarterbacks. Neuheisel believes that Jackson Arnold, a much-maligned college quarterback, will be officially exploding onto the scene at Auburn after 2 disappointing years at Oklahoma.
Things just didn’t work out for Arnold in Norman, and Oklahoma was so frustrated with its offense last fall that it fired its offensive coordinator in the middle of the season. Arnold was a part of that whole ordeal, of course, and now he’s looking for a fresh start on the Plains in 2025. Neuheisel believes Arnold will be on target, at long last, while playing for Hugh Freeze at Auburn, and that’s why Neuheisel chose Arnold as his top newcomer in 2025.
“I’m going to go with Jackson Arnold, the new quarterback at Auburn. The reason I’m so long on his chance to be successful is Hugh Freeze needs him to be so successful there. So, there is a bond immediately between head coach and quarterback. (Freeze) is a quarterback-friendly guy. I think Jackson Arnold is going to have a heck of an impact on War Eagle Nation,” said Neuheisel.
Here is the full clip of Neuheisel discussing Arnold’s potential in 2025:
Auburn fans are clamoring for good quarterback play this fall, and they’re praying that Arnold can do what Neuheisel expects him to do.
