CBS Sports analyst Brian Jones is rolling with the underdog in one of college football’s most intriguing Week 2 matchups.
On this week’s Inside College Football, Jones picked Kansas to upset Missouri in Saturday’s Border War at Memorial Stadium.
“I’m going to take Kansas over Missouri,” Jones announced during an upset selection segment. “Two games, they’ve allowed one touchdown by a quarterback. They have 2 interceptions (and) 6 sacks. Give me the Jayhawks.”

For Jones, the edge goes to KU and star QB Jalon Daniels — who’s already racked up 456 yards on 36-of-45 passes for 456 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2025 season. The efficiency has been one of the best in the country, and Jones believes that is enough to beat the Tigers.
Kansas heads into Columbia with momentum after a 2-0 start, but the Jayhawks haven’t left Lawrence yet this fall, so Saturday marks their first road test — and it comes in one of the most hostile environments they could face.
Missouri, meanwhile, is fresh off a 61-6 thrashing of Central Arkansas in Beau Pribula’s bright debut. The Penn State transfer showed strong production in his first start, but Kansas will be a very different challenge. Both fan bases know bragging rights — and early-season credibility — are firmly on the line.
