CBS Sports analysts Aaron Taylor and Randy Cross have revealed their pick for Auburn versus Oklahoma this Saturday. Both analysts are picking the Sooners to take down the Tigers in Norman.
Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold will make his return to his old school and will be looking to leave with the W. No. 22 Auburn is undefeated so far this season but will have its true first test this weekend with No. 11 Oklahoma.
The Sooners and quarterback John Mateer have looked great so far this season. After a home victory against Michigan, Oklahoma rolled last week against Temple 42-3. Mateer threw for 282 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 1 score in as well.
CBS analyst Aaron Taylor thinks Oklahoma’s offense will be challenged by Auburn’s front seven, but he believes Arnold’s return to Oklahoma may cause him to try to do too much. Citing Arnold’s lack of ability to push the ball down the field, make smart decisions, and throw the ball accurately are all reasons Taylor is going with Oklahoma.
Randy Cross is going with Oklahoma for a much different reason. Auburn allowed Baylor 483 yards of total offense, and Cross believes that if Auburn struggled with Baylor’s offense, “they’re going to be nuts about Oklahoma.”
