Week 9 of the 2026 college football regular season was filled with more wild upsets and dramatic finishes around the country, but that chaos surprisingly skipped over the SEC on Halloween weekend.

Of the five in-conference matchups, the expected winner came out on top in each contest, with all five victories coming in relatively dominant fashion. The South Carolina Gamecocks were arguably the most impressive team in the conference, however, extending their winning streak to three games with a commanding 42-25 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.

The folks over at CBS Sports seem to agree, as they named South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer their SEC Coach of the Week on Monday morning following his team’s dominant performance against the Sooners.

The honor is more than deserved, as South Carolina played lights out in all three phases of the game. The Gamecocks out gained Oklahoma by nearly 200 yards, held the Sooners to just 115 rushing yards, and put quarterback John Mateer on the ground three times.

Beamer’s job appeared to be in jeopardy after the Gamecocks dropped their first three SEC games of the season, but he has since rallied his team and put South Carolina back in the hunt for a potential College Football Playoff bid.

The sixth-year head coach will now look to extend the Gamecocks’ winning streak to four games this Saturday when they host the Texas A&M Aggies.
