Each weekend of football in the SEC is a journey. You never know how a game between conference members is going to go.
In Week 9, the conference’s unpredictable nature brought us five games decided by at least three possessions. Amidst the dominance, two particular performances stuck out. According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, South Carolina offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann the publication’s SEC coordinators of the week.
The Gamecock offense absolutely torched an incredible Oklahoma Sooners defense last Saturday. LaNorris Sellers threw for 301 yards and captained a rushing attack that posted more than 200 yards in South Carolina’s 42-25 road victory. The Gamecocks’ 42 points were the most of any Oklahoma opponent this season.
Back in the Eastern time zone, the Bulldogs stifled the Florida Gators in their Cocktail Party matchup. Georgia limited Florida to 252 total yards — and only 100 in the first half — and forced four Gator turnovers in its 27-8 win. The eight points the Bulldogs allowed were their fewest against any FBS foe in 2026.
South Carolina and Georgia will face off later this year, but have other business to attend to before then. This weekend, the Gamecocks host the Texas A&M Aggies (3:00 p.m. ET, ESPN). Meanwhile, the Bulldogs travel to Oxford for a huge battle against the Ole Miss Rebels (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC). Both matchups are on Saturday, Nov. 7.
