CFB fans flame Dabo Swinney for decision leading to new kicker shanking potential game-winner vs. FSU

Most of the country watching the Tigers’ high stakes ACC matchup against Florida State had around those same thoughts when head coach Dabo Swinney made the decision to march out his new kicker for a potential game-winner instead of being more aggressive in the final minutes of the game.

The kicker, Jonathan Weitz, was recently retired from football and Clemson’s backup a few years ago. Swinney made the choice to bring him back in a jam. He then missed a potential game-winner from just 29 yards out.

Brutal:

Clemson held in regulation, but ended up losing in the first overtime after the Seminoles scored immediately and Clemson failed to convert. The Tigers lose what could potentially be their biggest game of the year, 31-24.

That didn’t save him from social media shaming, though. The college football world was all over Swinney for his late-game decision Saturday:
