Charges dropped against Texas A&M OL arrested earlier this month

Earlier this month, Texas A&M OL Ryan McCollum was charged with reckless driving and evading an officer, stemming from a Sept. 15 traffic incident.
However, on Friday, it was announced that he would no longer face those charges.
Per a report from TheEagle.com, the district attorney’s office couldn’t find sufficient evidence that McCollum knew an officer on a bicycle was trying to detain him:
The district attorney’s office concluded that there was insufficient evidence to prove all elements of the incident beyond a reasonable doubt, according to the court documents. The office reviewed reports and video and could not prove that McCollum knew an officer was attempting to detain him and that he fled intentionally, the document states.
This is a good break for the Aggies, and for McCollum.
McCollum is a backup lineman, but he’s still important to the Aggie offense, and having him not facing charges (and then potentially a suspension) is big news.
