Charles Barkley shares heartfelt reaction to playing golf with Nick Saban

Charles Barkley has a long relationship with Nick Saban. However, Wednesday was the first chance for the two men to share a round of golf together, and it meant a lot to Barkley.
The former Auburn hoops star and former Alabama head coach were set to play together at the Regions Tradition Celebrity Pro-Am. While speaking to the media, Barkley shared his utmost respect for Saban, even admitting he spoke to Saban’s Alabama football teams multiple times throughout his career.
“It’s always an honor to be around Coach Saban. He’s the greatest college football coach ever. I have a lot of admiration and respect for him,” said Barkley. “He’s asked me to speak to the Tide a couple of times, it meant a great deal to me for him to ask me to do that. I would do anything for him just because I’ve got so much respect and admiration for him.”

While Barkley played for Alabama’s archrival, there certainly appears to be a level of mutual respect between the Crimson Tide coaching legend and the Tigers’ hoops legend. Now, they’ll share a round of golf, and only one question truly remains.
