Chris Doering played the wide receiver position at the highest level in the SEC back in his day at Florida.
He was born in Gainesville and starred down the street at Florida, where he was a second-team All-American and a first-team All-SEC selection in 1995. That was 30 years ago, because time sure does fly, but Doering is still very close to college football and the SEC as an analyst for SEC Network. Doering knows the SEC inside and out, especially the current elite wideouts, and on Friday during the SEC This Morning show he co-hosts with Peter Burns, Doering ranked his top 5 wide receiver duos right now in the SEC.
At the top of Doering list was the Texas A&M standout tandem of Mario Craver and KC Concepcion, who have helped the 9th-ranked Aggies get off to a 3-0 start. Craver and Concepcion have combined for 33 catches and 7 touchdowns in just 3 games, so they’ve done that damage in just 1 quarter of the regular season.
Doering had the Alabama duo of Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard at No. 2 on his list. Williams’s stardom was well-chronicled last fall as a freshman, but Bernard has become a star himself, already catching 15 passes for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns in just 3 games for the Crimson Tide this fall.
Staying in the state of Alabama, Doering had Auburn‘s Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton at No. 3 on his SEC wideout duo rankings. Right behind them for Doering are the Tennessee tandem of Chris Brazzell II and Braylon Staley. Brazzell has been a touchdown machine in 2025, already hauling in 6 touchdowns among his 25 catches this season.
Rounding out Doering’s top 5 SEC duos is Oklahoma‘s Deion Burks and Isaiah Sategna, who have helped the 7th-ranked Sooners get off to a 4-0 start.
