When the calendar hit October last year, Jadan Baugh had only 10 carries in 4 games. He lost a fumble in the blowout win over Samford and got just 1 touch the following week when Florida hosted Texas A&M. He ripped a 32-yard run on the road against Mississippi State and started to see his role grow with each passing week from then on.

Baugh produced his first career 100-yard rushing effort in the Oct. 19 win over Kentucky. He found the endzone 5 times on the ground that day. The Gator backfield grew more explosive with the insertion of the 6-foot-1, 230-pound tailback. Over the Gators’ last 5 games, Baugh had a 55-yard run, a 25-yard touchdown reception, and a 27-yard tote.

Now, entering the 2025 season, the true sophomore looks like a candidate to bust out in a major way.

SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic thinks Baugh isn’t getting nearly enough attention heading into the year.

“Jadan Baugh? Pft. I’m just telling you now. We might be (into) next year and we’re talking about Jadan Baugh like, ‘How come nobody was talking about him?'” Cubelic said this week on That SEC Podcast. “He’s 6-1, 235 and has legit wiggle. Like, guy can get it. Florida might be able to take the air out of the game now. They might be able to just slow it down, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it. And, if that’s the case, how many teams want to play that style of a game?”

Cubelic also spotlighted Baugh on his own podcast, the Cube Show, as a player fans should be aware of in 2025.

In total, Baugh appeared in all 13 games with 4 starts for the Gators last season. He averaged 5.1 yards per carry while leading the team in rushing yards (673) and total touchdowns (8). He tied for the team lead in rushing scores (7).

An Atlanta native, Baugh was not thought of as a can’t-miss recruit in the 2024 cycle. He was a 4-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite, but he was ranked as the 42nd overall recruit from the state of Georgia and the 19th athlete in the class. He got high school snaps at quarterback, running back, wideout, corner, and safety.

Baugh began his true freshman season as RB3 on the Gator depth chart behind Montrell Johnson and Treyaun Webb. Injuries helped pave a path toward playing time, but Baugh produced and earned his keep.

In 2025, he figures to lead a deep and talented running back room that features Ja’Kobi Jackson, KD Daniels, and Webb.
