Week 7 of SEC play has come and gone, and that means that SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic has released his takeaways for each SEC team that was in action on the gridiron over the weekend.
Posted on his personal X account, Cubelic breaks down what he thinks each team from across the league did well and what they struggled with in their respective matchups.
When it comes to Alabama, he says that the Tide picked up an impressive road win and that QB Ty Simpson continues to impress as well. He also said that the OL was good, but not great, and that defense and skill positions were solid.
On the flip side of that matchup, Cubelic said that Mizzou had its chances, but they just couldn’t get the ball downfield, and that’s what cost them in the long run.
For Auburn, Cubelic said that the loss was “crushing” and that, regardless of how frustrating or demoralizing the calls from the refs may have been, they still had to find a way.
Cubelic went on to say that Georgia pulled out a “gritty” win, and he also used the same word to describe the win for LSU over South Carolina. He used the term “massive” to describe the wins for both Texas and Texas A&M, while saying that Ole Miss and Tennessee both found a way to win in their respective matchups, despite some struggles.
Lastly, he said that Oklahoma and Arkansas both had tough losses, and he described the loss for Arkansas as a “gut punch.” He also said that Florida looked good in spots, but offensive issues cost them once again.
Here’s Cubelic’s full list of takeaways for this week:
