The SEC’s Week 9 schedule featured a pair of ranked-on-ranked battles amongst its 6 matchups. The lighter slate was competitive, with 5 one-possession margins.
It was a fun weekend that saw multiple teams re-establish themselves in the College Football Playoff hierarchy. In the process, another school may have gotten knocked out of the running. And, as always, Cole Cubelic reviewed the footage to break everything down.
Cubelic released his Week 10 takeaways early Monday morning. The SEC Network analyst said he had “never seen anything” like Arkansas‘ penalty-filled performance versus Mississippi State. He characterized Auburn’s offensive showing as “inept” and labeled the Tigers’ “QB juggling” as “nonsensical,” and made it seem like Tennessee‘s defense didn’t do anything right in the Vols’ loss to Oklahoma.
On the positive side of things, Cubelic applauded the Sooners for an “all-around impressive night” in Knoxville. He liked that Vanderbilt “showed grit” and fought back following a huge early hole at Texas. He said Kentucky‘s triumph over Auburn was “not exciting,” but was a “hell of a win on the road,” and admitted it was “cool to see” Mississippi State get back in the SEC win column after being “so close” numerous times this year.
