Cole Cubelic shares SEC takeaways following Week 9 games

Cole Cubelic’s weekly SEC takeaways are a Sunday staple during college football season.
The Week 9 slate featured 10 SEC teams in action, all in conference play, while Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt were off.
Here’s what Cubelic had to say after watching each team’s Saturday performance:
AUBURN: Special teams not great. Like using bonus bigs to catch angles in run game. Had some going but couldn’t build on it. Struggled defending run, esp QB. That opened seams. 76 has to play OL. Usual cast still playing hard. Energy looked different late. 11 att not enough for 4

GEORGIA: Had nice pressures dialed. Altered the front often. Didn’t let the off settle in at all. 88 & 99 looked good up front. 22 came up well. 1 big bust. Tackled well. Love RB mix, 30 adds juice. TE’s ridiculous. Good use of 19. Flew around. Physical. QB got away with a few.

MISSOURI: Really nice mix in run game. QB’s legs really helped. Made good decisions there. 79 added muscle in the run game as extra OL. 7 explosive! DC moved the front before & after the snap, caused commotion. DL won their 1 on 1’s created by DC covering all 5 OL. Played hard.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Did not locate run game well. Let QB break contain. Too much flow outside & lost eyes inside. Missed block, drop, over throw, just little things. Not a great day blocking. 18 solid. WRs played hard. Saw some confusion with the looks they got.

TEXAS A&M: Found the QB. Team is young LOTS of Fr making plays. Consistency won’t be there. Flags brutal. Esp converting 3 1st downs on 1 drive. Felt like front 7 got worn down later in game. OL started great. Got away from run, some is on QB. 7 massive. 1 big time. More 6 please

We’ll see what Cubelic has to say after a loaded Week 10 in the SEC headlined by No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 2 Tennessee.
