Cole Cubelic didn’t have the full 16 SEC teams to write about during his social media firestorm that came in the aftermath of a still-packed Week 5 of the 2026 season.
But there were still 13 teams from the SEC who played and won or lost, so there was plenty for the SEC Network analyst to dive into on Sunday night as he dissected what he saw from each SEC team, whether good or bad.
The good? How about Alabama‘s big road win over Mississippi State?
“Handed their business. Set tone early on ground with run game and TE involvement,” wrote Cubelic of the Crimson Tide’s 56-23 pounding of the previously undefeated Bulldogs.
The bad? How about Auburn‘s road loss against Tennessee?
“Rough one. Defense played hard. Gassed out late,” wrote Cubelic of the 24-14 loss at Neyland Stadium.
And speaking of bad, what exactly happened to Florida in that blowout loss at Mizzou?
“Looked a little flat,” reasoned Cubelic of the 45-17 loss, UF’s first of the season.
What about Kentucky prevailing in overtime at South Carolina?
“Gutsy win on the road,” wrote Cubelic of the 35-34 Wildcats victory.
And the flip side of that UF loss was Mizzou showing out.
“Statement win,” Cubelic called the victory in Columbia.
Cubelic made many statements of his own during his SEC social media blitz on Sunday night, and here it is in full:
