College football will kick off in less than 3 weeks, as Kansas State and Iowa State get the season started in Ireland on August 23. Before the games start, teams across the country are trying to get their fans hyped for the upcoming season.

Coaches are doing whatever they can to get people coming to the game and are using social media to help promote the team. While many teams are doing some creative stuff, first year New Mexico coach Jason Eck may have set the standard as he did an homage to ‘Scott’s Tots’ from the hit show The Office.

Here’s a clip:

In an episode of ‘The Office’, Michael Scott (Steve Carell) makes an empty promise to local elementary students that they would have their college tuition paid for.

While these students will not be getting their tuition paid at New Mexico, children 12 years and younger will be able to get in free to games this season.

The Lobos are in a transition year, as Eck was hired on December 24 of last year to be the coach. The team is also having to replace quarterback Devon Dampier, who transferred to Utah.

For Eck, he is trying to get fans in the stadium this year, and he is off to a great start. New Mexico fans will have to wait until Week 2 for a home game though, as the Lobos travel to the Big House in Week 1 to take on Michigan.
