College GameDay was in Austin for Texas‘s Week 2 game against Ohio State at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns ended up rallying back for a massive early-season victory, erasing a 23-3 fourth-quarter deficit to win 24-23.

While the game itself pulled in plenty of viewers, GameDay boasted a sizable audience of its own.

ESPN announced on Tuesday that Saturday marked the show’s highest-ever Week 2 audience in its history. It averaged 2.7 million viewers, with an average of 3.4 million watching during the third hour. In terms of where Saturday’s episode ranked overall, it was the seventh-most watched edition of College GameDay in the show’s history.

While Week 2’s College GameDay episode broke into the top 10 overall, ESPN will be bracing itself for a visit to Oxford in Week 3, when Lane Kiffin and No. 7 LSU face No. 10 Ole Miss for the first time since he left the Rebels for the Tigers.

The latest edition of the Magnolia Bowl was already set to be one of the most anticipated in the history of the rivalry. Adding to the narrative of Kiffin’s return is the fact that both teams will meet while in the top 10. The last time that happened was in 1962, when the sixth-ranked Rebels beat the fourth-ranked Tigers 15-7 on the road.
