College GameDay is staying in the state of Utah in Week 8.
ESPN’s flagship pregame show announced on Sunday morning that it will be in Salt Lake City next week for Utah’s top-25 matchup vs. Houston. This comes after GameDay was in Provo for a top-10 matchup between BYU and Notre Dame in Week 7.
Here’s the official announcement:
This is the third time this season that GameDay has gone to a non-SEC venue.
GameDay has been to Salt Lake City several times in previous years, including as recently as last season. GameDay was at Rice-Eccles Stadium for a Utah-Cincinnati game in 2025, which the Utes won 45-24.
GameDay also previously took trips to Salt Lake City for a Utah game in 2023, 2016, 2015, 2010 and 2004. This will be GameDay’s 7th trip overall to Utah for a Utes home game.
The Big 12 still has numerous College Football Playoff contenders at this juncture, including Utah and Houston. The Utes are 6-0 while Houston is 6-1 with its only loss coming to Texas Tech back in September.
