College GameDay reveals celebrity guest picker for Alabama vs. Texas show
By Kevin Duffey
Published:
College GameDay will be live Saturday morning at 9 a.m. ET from Austin, Texas, for the highly anticipated Alabama at Texas game. On paper, it could get lopsided with Alabama as a big favorite; however, Texas will attempt to slow down Bryce Young and the Crimson Tide to keep things close.
“Top Gun: Maverick” star Glen Powell will join Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis and the rest of the College GameDay on the set to make his picks.
Powell is originally from Austin and attended Texas, and he’s obviously now well-known for playing the character “Hangman” on “Maverick: Top Gun.” He’s also had smaller roles in several movies since 2003.
The premier pregame show announced the news late Friday night on Twitter.

Last week’s celebrity guest picker Jack Harlow went 6-2 during his Week 1 picks, and Powell will try and beat that benchmark.
In other College GameDay news, ESPN hired Pat McAfee to be a full-time analyst and entertainer on the show. That starts Saturday morning in Austin, Texas.
