Oregon has named former Auburn quarterback Bo Nix as the starter for Saturday’s opener against Georgia. This was an expected move as Nix transferred to Oregon in mid-December.

Nix will be making his fourth start against the Bulldogs in his career. He is 0-3 against Georgia and really struggled in his final two starts against the Bulldogs, barely completing 50 percent of his passes and leading the Tigers to just 16 points combined.
That’s probably why Kirby Smart didn’t sound too concerned earlier this week when he was asked about Oregon’s quarterback situation.
Nix had an up and down career at Auburn. He threw for 7,251 yards and 39 touchdowns, but it never seemed to be enough for Tigers fans.
Now he’ll get one last shot at the Bulldogs in a different uniform and playing for Dan Lanning, the former coordinator of the Georgia defense that tormented him.
Will it make a difference?
