Dak Prescott throws first TD pass of the season in return from thumb injury

After missing the last 5 weeks due to a thumb injury, Dallas QB Dak Prescott returned to action Sunday and led the Cowboys to a 24-6 win over Detroit.
The former Mississippi State standout completed 19-of-25 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort.

But after the game, he was quick to credit the Dallas defense, which forced 5 turnovers on the day.
“It was great,” Prescott told Tracy Wolfson about being back from injury. “This was a great team win. This is what I saw in these last 5 weeks, what our defense is capable of doing, what this team is capable of doing. Just having each other’s back, playing complementary football. It was a tough game. Every game is tough in the NFL. But we were able to get it done.”
Prescott also said during the interview that he has no issues with the thumb during the game.
“I felt fine, honestly,” he said. “After the first couple of throws, I wasn’t thinking about the thumb. Got in a groove there, ball was coming out good.”

With the victory, the Cowboys moved to 5-2 on the season. They return to action next Sunday at home against Chicago.
