Social media debates surrounding topics such as uniforms and jersey numbers help college football fans stay entertained during the long offseason.
The FOX College Football Twitter account recently asked fans, “Who’s the best college football player to wear No. 15?”
When Ezekiel Elliott saw the tweet, he asked his Dallas Cowboys teammate Dak Prescott for his opinion. Prescott, who wore No. 15 at Mississippi State, humbly declined to name himself and instead said it was one of his idols, Tim Tebow.
During Prescott’s time at Mississippi State, it came up a time or two that the Bulldog quarterback wore No. 15 to honor Tebow. Both the successful quarterbacks played for Dan Mullen. During Tebow’s first three seasons at Florida (2006-08), Mullen was UF’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Mullen left in 2009 to take the Mississippi State head coaching job, a position he held for the entirety of Prescott’s MSU career.
