Danny Kanell shares predictable reaction to Florida State missing the Playoff
Danny Kanell had a predictable reaction to the Florida State Seminoles being left out of the College Football Playoff.
The Seminoles won the ACC Championship on Saturday and finished with a perfect 13-0 record. However, the Noles were left out in favor of the Alabama Crimson Tide, who won the SEC Championship.
Kanell was not pleased with the decision to leave out his alma mater.
“Games don’t matter,” Kanell sarcastically declared. Kanell is referencing the fact that the Noles went undefeated but were likely left out due to Jordan Travis getting injured.
Games don’t matter.

Travis took to social media to vent his frustrations with the process as well. Kanell responded to the tweet by telling Travis sorry and wrote “the system failed you.”
I’m sorry @jordantrav13 The system failed you and the team. https://t.co/x8d4O1rFL0

Kanell won a national championship in 1993 as a member of the Seminoles. Kanell won the ACC Player of the Year Award in 1995 and was also a second-team All-American that season. Kanell went on to play in the NFL for 7 seasons.
Since retiring from football, Kanell has been known for his pro-FSU takes, and his criticism of the SEC. The analyst may not see his team in the CFP this year, but they should still be in a New Year’s 6 game.
