David Cutcliffe wants NCAA to overturn results after Duke’s loss to Miami

David Cutcliffe coached more than two decades in the SEC and never experienced this kind of frustration from officiating crews.
Sure, there were plenty of calls that didn’t go his way, but what happened at the end of Duke’s game against Miami on Saturday was a series of mistakes that Cutcliffe hopes changes the way the NCAA operates upon further review.

“What instant replay is in place for is to get it right,” Cutcliffe said, according to SI. “And we did not get it right.”
Cutcliffe has a legit beef considering video evidence shows several missed calls during Miami’s improbable kickoff return for a touchdown that won the game as time expired.

Cutcliffe wants the NCAA to have a plan in place in case something like this happens again. If the men in stripes didn’t get it right, perhaps overturning an outcome is the proper solution.
“If we’re going to have technology, if we want to get it right, let’s get it right. Otherwise let’s not have replay,” Cutcliffe said, according to SI. “I’ve been on the football issues committee and had a multitude of coaches reach out to me since the ballgame was over with that it’s just hard to understand from a coaching perspective. I would think this will create that conversation and hopefully this doesn’t happen to another set of young men.”
