South Carolina’s Mike Davis refutes Steve Spurrier’s injury claim

Several major media outlets are running with Steve Spurrier’s recent announcement that star running back Mike Davis’ status is questionable for the season opener next week against Texas A&M.
Davis has not practiced since taking a shot to ribs during Saturday’s scrimmage.
“Mike Davis has been hurt and hasn’t practiced all week,” said Spurrier. “I don’t know if he will be able to start or not.”
Vintage Spurrier, not giving the Aggies anything to work with in preparation for the game.
