Dawn Staley is sure to have the South Carolina women’s basketball program competing for another championship in 2025-26. Before that, though, Staley will be cheering on Shane Beamer‘s team.
During an appearance on SportsCenter, Staley took time to hype the fan experience of taking in a game at Williams-Brice Stadium.

“There is nothing like being at Williams-Brice at a football game,” Staley told ESPN. “There’s nothing like it. We are second to none. We are the No. 1 experience in Williams-Brice Stadium. Any game at any time that we’re in Williams-Brice Stadium, it’s gonna be a party. Everybody walks away enjoying it, no matter the score.”

On the gridiron, South Carolina opens the 2025 season in Atlanta to take on Virginia Tech, a program deeply familiar to Beamer and his family. The Gamecocks will then host South Carolina State in Week 2.
The home-opener is set for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium, streaming on ESPN+ and SEC Network+. South Carolina’s home schedule in 2025 includes games against Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, Coastal Carolina and Clemson.
