Deion Sanders doesn’t need much of an invitation to campaign for Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders as the top 2 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The always-outspoken Colorado head coach saw the pair emerge as 2 of the more dominant players in college football last season as the Buffaloes shook off a 4-8 record the year prior to improve to 9-4 in 2025. Hunter would go on to win the program’s second Heisman Trophy.

Now, with the Buffs’ pro day in the rearview mirror, Sanders feels that there’s not much left for the 2 players to prove.

“They should be going 1-2, that’s the way I feel about it. They are the 2 best players in this draft,” he told reporters after the Pro Day event, according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold.

Per Legwold, Shedeur Sanders threw for “just under an hour,” Hunter also participated in that session.

‘I feel like I’m the No. 1 quarterback, and that’s what I know,” Shedeur Sanders said. “But at the end of the day, I’m not stuck on that because it’s about the situation, so whatever situation, whatever franchise believes in me, I’m excited to go.”

His father, though, is unsurprisingly taking a much more straightforward approach.

“The surest bets in this draft are those 2 young men, and I didn’t stutter or stammer when I said that,” Deion Sanders said.
